Old Town man pleads guilty in Penobscot County drug trafficking case

An Old Town resident, Alan Dziob, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Bangor to charges related to a drug trafficking conspiracy. Prosecutors said that between January and April 2021, Dziob, 44, worked with others to distribute fentanyl, cocaine base, methamphetamine, and cocaine in Penobscot County and surrounding areas. According to court records, Dziob regularly supplied drugs to a local dealer who sold them on his behalf.

Dziob faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and could receive up to 40 years. He also faces a fine of up to $5 million and at least four years of supervised release after his prison term. The final sentence will be determined by a federal district judge following the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office and consideration of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration along with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
