A New Orleans man has been indicted on charges related to the sexual abuse of a minor, according to an announcement from Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson. Kendrick White, Sr., 40, was indicted on September 11, 2025, for sexual abuse and sexual abuse of a minor under federal statutes.
The indictment alleges that on or about November 22, 2023, White knowingly engaged in a sexual act with a female minor who was fifteen years old at the time. The alleged offense took place within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States.
If convicted, White faces up to fifteen years in prison for Count One and up to life imprisonment for Count Two. Additional penalties include lifetime supervised release, fines up to $250,000, mandatory sex offender registration, and a $100 special assessment fee per count.
"Acting U. S. Attorney Simpson reiterated that an indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt."
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating federal, state, and local resources. More information about this initiative can be found at www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
"U.S. Attorney Simpson praised the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in investigating this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Ginsberg, Chief of the Public Integrity Unit, is in charge of the prosecution."
