Darrelle Davon Boynton, 40, of Huntington, has pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine. Court records show that on April 23, 2025, Boynton sold about 56 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in a parking lot in Huntington. He admitted to planning and conducting the sale.
As part of his plea, Boynton also acknowledged additional drug transactions. On April 29, 2025, he sold approximately 57 grams of methamphetamine, and on May 8, 2025, he sold about 8.32 grams of heroin and fentanyl. Both sales were made to a confidential informant in Huntington.
Boynton is scheduled for sentencing on January 12, 2026. He could face up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine reaching $1 million.
At the time these offenses took place, Boynton was already under supervised release following his previous guilty plea for distribution of heroin and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on August 24, 2020.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston commented on the case: “I commend the investigative work of the Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force and the Huntington Police Department.”
The hearing was overseen by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers. Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie Taylor is prosecuting the case.
The prosecution falls under Operation Synthetic Opioid Surge (SOS), an initiative aimed at reducing synthetic opioid supply in areas most affected by opioid-related issues.
