A Broken Bow resident has pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Allan Wayne Hilton, also known as Alan Wayne Hilton, Terry L. Leonard, and Allen Wayne Hilton, age 67, entered his plea to one count of Failure to Register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
Hilton could face up to ten years in prison and a fine of $250,000. The indictment states that Hilton was required to register as a sex offender following his conviction on three counts of rape in Miller County, Arkansas on February 25, 1993. Authorities say that from June 20, 2023 until June 10, 2025, he did not register or update his registration despite entering or residing in Indian country within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force.
“The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.”
“A U.S. District Court Judge will determine the sentence to be imposed after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.”
“Hilton will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing.”
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Emily Wittlinger and Dak T. Cohen represented the government in this matter.
