Two Honduran nationals, Teodoro Rodas Dubon and Erick Yojan Lopez Miralda, have been extradited from Honduras to the United States to face federal charges related to fentanyl trafficking in Oregon. Both individuals appeared in federal court in Portland following their extradition.
Court documents indicate that starting in 2022, Rodas Dubon directed the distribution of large amounts of fentanyl throughout the Portland area. After law enforcement took action against his organization, he returned to Honduras but continued coordinating drug distribution into Portland. A federal grand jury indicted him on February 22, 2024, for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.
Separate court filings show that Lopez Miralda operated a different fentanyl distribution group in Portland during 2023. He also returned to Honduras after authorities seized multiple kilograms of fentanyl linked to his operation. On April 3, 2024, a grand jury indicted him for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.
Both men were arrested by Honduran authorities on provisional warrants in January 2025 and extradited on September 15, 2025. They pleaded not guilty at their arraignment and are being held pending a jury trial scheduled for November.
“Rodas Dubon and Lopez Miralda’s extraditions to the District of Oregon send a critical message: the United States will relentlessly pursue and hold accountable those involved in trafficking fentanyl,” said United States Attorney Scott E. Bradford. “These cases reinforce our commitment to holding all individuals involved in illicit drug operations accountable for the devastating impact they’ve had in Oregon. I extend my gratitude to our federal and state partners and the Honduran authorities for their dedicated efforts in investigating, interdicting, and apprehending those involved, especially for the arrests and extraditions of Rodas Dubon and Lopez Miralda.”
“The Drug Enforcement Administration and our partners will aggressively pursue threats like these no matter where they come from,” said David F. Reames, Special Agent in Charge, DEA Seattle Field Division. “Mr. Rodas Dubon and Mr. Lopez Miralda are accused of serious crimes in the United States and we look forward to seeking justice in Oregon.”
The investigation was led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration with support from its office in Tegucigalpa, Honduras; local police departments including Tigard and Sherwood; Washington County Sheriff’s Office; and Westside Interagency Narcotics Team. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul T. Maloney is prosecuting the case.
The Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs coordinated with Honduran officials on both arrests and extraditions.
This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America—a nationwide effort by the Department of Justice aimed at countering illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), as well as protecting communities from violent crime through joint task forces such as Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) and Project Safe Neighborhoods.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
