Stillwater man sentenced to over five years for methamphetamine distribution

Clinton J. Johnson U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma

A Stillwater man, Flint Donavan Luster, 37, was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison after being convicted of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. U.S. District Judge Sara E. Hill also ordered Luster to serve four years of supervised release following his prison term.

The conviction followed a traffic stop in September 2023 by a Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputy. During the stop, officers discovered that the truck Luster was driving had been reported stolen and took him into custody. A search of the vehicle led deputies to find a puzzle box containing 437 grams of methamphetamine.

Testimony during the trial revealed that law enforcement previously executed a search warrant at Luster's home, where they found evidence linked to drug distribution activities. Items seized included scales, firearms, cash, and additional quantities of methamphetamine. Further evidence indicated that Luster was purchasing methamphetamine in Tulsa and distributing it in smaller surrounding communities.

Luster will remain in custody until he is transferred to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Payne County Sheriff’s Office, and Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Adam Bailey and Attila Bogdan prosecuted the case.
