Pacific International Marketing has announced a recall of 474 cases of bulk Italian parsley due to potential contamination with Salmonella. The company stated that the recalled parsley was distributed to wholesalers in Arizona, California, Florida, Minnesota, Michigan, Georgia, Ohio, and Nevada between September 22 and September 25, 2025. The affected products were sold in cases containing either 30 or 60 bunches with a twist tie (UPC: 40695 80125) or as 24-count bags with a twist tie (UPC: 40695 80120). According to Pacific International Marketing, the shelf life for this parsley is up to October 10, 2025.

The recall follows notification that a sample collected on October 6 tested positive for Salmonella. The company noted that these products should no longer be available directly to consumers unless they have been frozen.

Salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Severe cases may lead to arterial infections such as infected aneurysms, endocarditis, or arthritis. "Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis," according to Pacific International Marketing.

Symptoms typically appear within three days after consuming contaminated food and usually last less than a week. Some individuals—especially children under five years old or those with weakened immune systems—may experience more serious illness requiring medical care.

No illnesses linked to the recalled parsley have been reported so far.

Pacific International Marketing stated it is working closely with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration during its investigation while also conducting an internal review.

Wholesalers who purchased directly from Pacific have already been notified about the recall. Consumers are advised to discard any recalled product or return it for a refund. For further information about the recall or updates on the situation, consumers can contact Pacific International Marketing by phone during business hours or via email at customerservice@pim4u.com.
