The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) has expressed support for the U.S. Trade Representative's decision to initiate a Section 301 investigation into China's compliance with the 2020 Phase One trade agreement. This agreement, which was negotiated during President Trump's first administration, included commitments from China to purchase aerospace products.

An AIA spokesperson said, "The Aerospace Industries Association welcomes the U.S. Trade Representative’s review of the Phase One trade agreement with China." The spokesperson emphasized the importance of strong and enforceable trade policies for the aerospace industry, highlighting their role in supporting American jobs and economic growth.

The Phase One agreement aimed to address issues such as intellectual property theft and forced technology transfer. It also included significant purchase commitments for aerospace and other manufactured goods. The AIA views continued progress toward these goals as essential.

"We are encouraged by President Trump, Secretary Bessent, and Ambassador Greer’s ongoing commitment to trade deals that protect American jobs, intellectual property, and U.S. leadership," added the spokesperson. The AIA is eager to work with the current administration to advance trade policies that benefit U.S. manufacturers globally.
