The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has expressed support for the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee's confirmation hearing of Francis "Frank" Cassidy as Assistant Secretary of Housing and Federal Housing Administration (FHA) Commissioner.
Shannon McGahn, NAR executive vice president and chief advocacy officer, stated: "The National Association of Realtors commends the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee for holding the confirmation hearing of Francis Cassidy to serve as Assistant Secretary of Housing and Federal Housing Administration (FHA) Commissioner. Mr. Cassidy's deep expertise in housing finance and his proven dedication to strengthening America's housing system make him exceptionally well suited for this vital role. NAR is confident that under his leadership, FHA will expand homeownership opportunities through thoughtful, commonsense reforms that lower barriers for borrowers and lenders alike, while preserving the strength and integrity of FHA programs."
Earlier, NAR had sent a letter to Chairman Tim Scott and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren supporting Cassidy’s nomination.
