Bryan County man sentenced to over six years for methamphetamine distribution

A resident of Bryan County, Sean Paul Duer, 58, from Durant, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 75 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Durant Police Department. Authorities stated that on May 15, 2024, while executing a search warrant on Duer’s impounded vehicle, they found about 33 grams of methamphetamine concealed inside the door panel.

Duer pleaded guilty to the charge on May 8, 2025. Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Duer will remain in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service until he is transferred to a designated Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence without parole.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard J. Lorenz represented the prosecution.
