Marshall County woman receives four-year federal sentence for fatal crash

Ashley Nicole Castleberry-Miller, a 31-year-old resident of Kingston, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for involuntary manslaughter in Indian Country. The sentence will be followed by three years of supervised release.

The case stemmed from an investigation involving the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and the Seminole Police Department. Investigators reported that on April 20, 2024, Castleberry-Miller caused a fatal crash by failing to pay full attention while driving. She crossed the center line and was found to be operating her vehicle under the influence of an intoxicating substance other than alcohol. The incident occurred in Seminole County within the boundaries of the Seminole Nation Reservation.

Castleberry-Miller pleaded guilty to the charge on April 3, 2025. The sentencing hearing was overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Castleberry-Miller is currently in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service and will be transferred to a Bureau of Prisons facility to serve her sentence without parole.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Gross prosecuted the case.
