A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted Thomas Dorn, 39, of Natrona, Pennsylvania, on charges related to making interstate threats and threatening to assault and murder a federal official. The announcement was made by First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
The indictment alleges that on October 17, 2025, Dorn left voice messages for one of his victims with threats to injure and kill that person and others. It further claims that on October 27, 2025, Dorn threatened to shoot his postal carrier and attack his local post office.
On October 28, 2025, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) filed a criminal complaint against Dorn and arrested him at his home. After a hearing, a federal magistrate judge determined that Dorn posed a danger to the community and ordered him held without bail until trial.
The indictment also includes forfeiture allegations. Authorities notified Dorn that they would seek to confiscate property seized by the FBI during his arrest. This property includes 11 firearms as well as firearm suppressors, scopes, magazines, and various types of ammunition.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan J. McKenna is prosecuting the case for the government. The investigation involved the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Marshals Service, and Harrison Township Police Department.
"An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty."
