A Coventry man has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for charges related to the exploitation of a minor and production and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), according to an announcement from Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.
Scott P. Hickey, 46, received his sentence from U.S. District Court Chief Judge John J. McConnell, Jr. Hickey had pleaded guilty in July 2025 to multiple charges, including possession and access with intent to view child pornography, exploitation of a minor, distribution of child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
Court documents indicated that law enforcement discovered 164 images of CSAM on Hickey's cellphone in June 2019, which led to his indictment for possession and access with intent to view child pornography. While awaiting trial for those charges in 2023, Hickey exploited a minor female several times by live streaming or recording sexually explicit acts. He was arrested on July 27, 2023. A forensic examination found at least 572 images of CSAM on his phone.
The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Paul F. Daly, Jr., while the investigation involved FBI agents based in Providence, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C.
