A Danville man has been sentenced to 107 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug distribution charges. Jerrod Allen-Jamal Wimbush, 36, admitted in June 2025 to possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.

The sentencing follows a traffic stop on September 13, 2024, when officers from the Danville Police Department pulled over Wimbush for speeding. A K-9 unit alerted officers to narcotics in the vehicle. After initially denying there were drugs present, Wimbush told police that drugs were inside. Officers executed a search warrant and found 17 grams of methamphetamine, .254 grams of fentanyl, and 41.53 grams of cocaine.

Authorities conducted a subsequent search at Wimbush’s residence on October 17, 2024. This resulted in the seizure of an additional 127 grams of fentanyl and more than 200 grams of cocaine.

“Illegal narcotics fuel addictions, violence and death,” said Acting United States Attorney Robert N. Tracci. “This office will aggressively prosecute those who traffic deadly drugs for profit.”

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Danville Police Department led the investigation into the case. The announcement was made by Robert N. Tracci, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia, along with Anthony A. Spotswood, Special Agent in Charge of ATF’s Washington Field Division.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Keith Parrella and Matthew Miller prosecuted the case.
