Thomas C. Albus will continue serving as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri following his appointment by the U.S. District Court. The court's decision, made on Monday, allows Mr. Albus to remain in office until a permanent appointment is confirmed.
Chief U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark administered the oath to Mr. Albus under 28 United States Code 546, which authorizes temporary appointments for U.S. Attorneys when vacancies occur.
Mr. Albus’s formal nomination by President Donald J. Trump is currently awaiting confirmation in the U.S. Senate after receiving approval from the Judiciary Committee on October 16.
“I am grateful for the vote of the Court and honored to lead an office of outstanding professionals in the Eastern District of Missouri,” Mr. Albus said.
