Intermittent road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in downtown Washington, D.C. from November 16 to November 20 due to a visit by a foreign dignitary, according to the U.S. Secret Service.
The agency announced that several streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6 a.m. on November 16 until 6 a.m. on November 20. The affected areas include Exit 4B to the 12th Street Expressway from westbound Maine Avenue SW, Exit 3 to the 12th Street Expressway from northbound (inbound) I-395, the 12th Street Tunnel/Expressway, and 12th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Constitution Avenue NW.
In addition, emergency no parking zones will be established during this period on specific roads: "12th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Constitution Avenue, NW; West curb lane of 10th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Constitution Avenue, NW; Pennsylvania Avenue from 10th Street to 12th Street, NW," as stated by the U.S. Secret Service Media Relations.
