A Douglas County man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.
Glenn Allen Gearhart, 51, received a sentence of 168 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
Court documents state that on October 18, 2024, detectives from the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) executed a search warrant at Gearhart’s home. During the search, officers found methamphetamine, cocaine, drug records, digital scales, packaging materials, four loaded magazines, and ammunition. Before law enforcement arrived, Gearhart attempted to flee but crashed into another vehicle and a patrol car. Authorities found more than $5,000 in cash, fentanyl, and a round of ammunition on him. In his vehicle were a stolen pistol, an AR-style rifle, a short-barrel shotgun, another shotgun, and two cans full of ammunition.
On June 13, 2025, Gearhart was formally charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm. He pleaded guilty on August 5, 2025 to possessing with intent to distribute over 400 grams of fentanyl mixture or substance and over 500 grams of methamphetamine mixture or substance along with illegal firearm possession.
The case was investigated by DINT and the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Sweet.
The prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities.
