Palatka resident indicted for alleged bank robbery in Ocala

A man from Palatka, Florida, has been indicted on charges of bank robbery. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced that Jordon Roger Anchando, 46, was charged following the unsealing of an indictment. If found guilty, Anchando could face up to 20 years in federal prison. He was arrested on November 18, 2025, and remains in custody as his case proceeds.

The indictment alleges that on June 2, 2025, Anchando took money from a bank by using force, violence, and intimidation. The affected bank’s deposits are protected by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

Authorities emphasize that "an indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty."

The investigation into the incident involved the Belleview Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg will prosecute the case.

This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America. According to officials, this nationwide initiative brings together resources from across the Department of Justice to address illegal immigration issues, combat cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect communities from violent crime. Operation Take Back America coordinates efforts with programs such as the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
