A Texas man has pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the unlawful dealing of anti-materiel rifles, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. Filiberto Walle, 24, from Edinburgh, Texas, admitted guilt to one count of conspiracy to engage in the business of dealing firearms without a license and one count of engaging in the business of dealing firearms without a license.
Prosecutors stated that between August 1 and September 30, 2023, Walle acquired .50 BMG caliber rifles from licensed dealers in Colorado. He then unlawfully sold these rifles in Texas and other locations. These firearms are classified as anti-materiel rifles and are designed for use against military equipment and structures. According to court documents, Walle worked with others to hide his identity as the actual purchaser by arranging straw transfers—third parties completed background checks and obtained possession of the weapons before handing them over to Walle.
The investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) also resulted in convictions for several individuals who assisted Walle or committed related offenses:
Mohamed Savane was convicted of conspiracy to engage in the business of dealing firearms without a license.
Malcolm Johnson was convicted of making a false statement during purchase of a firearm.
Adrian Cervantes was convicted of making a false statement during purchase of a firearm.
Torien Pryor-Parson was convicted on charges including conspiracy to commit making a false statement during purchase of a firearm and retaliation against a witness or informant.
United States District Judge Charlotte N. Sweeney presided over Walle’s hearing. Sentencing is scheduled for January 30, 2026.
The ATF led the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Albert Buchman prosecuted the case.
