President Donald J. Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum to start the process of aligning U.S. core childhood vaccine recommendations with those used in other developed countries. The move is intended to bring American vaccine guidelines in line with international best practices.
According to the White House, the United States currently recommends more vaccinations for children than many peer nations. The administration states that this step aims to ensure Americans receive medical advice comparable to that provided in other advanced countries.
The initiative is part of President Trump's commitment to improving children's health in the United States. In September, the MAHA Commission released the Make Our Children Healthy Again Strategy, which includes over 120 initiatives aimed at addressing childhood chronic disease and developing a new framework for childhood vaccines. Earlier, in May, the commission published an assessment summarizing current knowledge and outstanding questions about childhood chronic diseases.
"President Trump is committed to building a healthier future for America, starting with our youngest generation," according to the statement.
