Ocala, Florida – Jason Shane Ejmali, 51, of Silver Springs, has pleaded guilty to attempted enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the plea. Ejmali faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and could be sentenced to life.
According to court documents, between July 24 and July 26, 2025, Ejmali communicated with an individual he believed would provide access to a foster child aged 13 or 14 for sexual purposes. The person was actually an undercover special agent from Homeland Security Investigations. During their conversations, Ejmali described the sexual acts he intended to perform with the minor and agreed to meet at a location in Marion County. Law enforcement arrested him upon his arrival.
Homeland Security Investigations and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg is prosecuting.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Childhood brings together federal, state, and local agencies to find and prosecute those who exploit children and rescue victims.
