Fall River woman sentenced for role in sex trafficking conspiracy involving minors

Leah B. Foley United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts | Department of Justice

A Fall River resident has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for participating in a sex trafficking conspiracy. Cory Primo, 43, received a sentence of 70 months and five years of supervised release from U.S. District Court Judge Angel Kelley. Primo must also pay $5,000 in restitution to three victims involved in the case.

Primo pleaded guilty in August 2025 to one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. She was one of six individuals charged in July 2024.

Authorities said that between April and August 2023, Primo worked with others to traffic an adult woman and two minors from Massachusetts. According to the prosecution, Primo admitted she became involved because she was “broke.” She sent photographs of the victims to potential buyers, arranged commercial sex acts, and negotiated prices. Prosecutors stated that Primo joked about her involvement by comparing it to “playing a game of Tetris.” She also encouraged another co-defendant to use violence against the victims and showed little concern for their well-being as long as they continued generating money.

“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division; and Michael J. Krol, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England made the announcement. Valuable assistance was provided by the Somerset Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Riley, Chief of the Human Trafficking & Civil Rights Unit and Trial Attorney Francisco Zornosa of the Criminal Division prosecuted the case.”
