On December 12, 2025, the President signed several congressional bills into law, addressing a range of topics from honoring athletes to veterans’ benefits and legal organizations.
H.R. 452, known as the “Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act,” awards three Congressional Gold Medals to members of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey team.
H.R. 970, titled the “Fairness for Servicemembers and their Families Act of 2025,” mandates that the Department of Veterans Affairs periodically review the automatic maximum coverage provided under both the Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance program and the Veterans’ Group Life Insurance program.
The “Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserves Tuition Fairness Act of 2025” (H.R. 983) requires that educational institutions must not charge higher than in-state tuition rates to members of the Selected Reserves who live in that state or risk having their courses disapproved by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
H.R. 1912, called the “Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act of 2025,” is designed to improve how veterans are repaid when their benefits have been misused by a fiduciary.
Finally, S. 616—the “Foundation of the Federal Bar Association Charter Amendments Act of 2025”—changes aspects of the Federal charter for this Foundation by allowing certain corporate requirements to be set through its bylaws rather than statute.
