John Aaron Gass, a 35-year-old high school history teacher at District of Columbia International School, has been arrested and charged with production of child pornography and enticement of a minor. The charges were announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro following the unsealing of a complaint in U.S. District Court.
FBI agents arrested Gass at his Maryland home on Wednesday. Charging documents allege that Gass sexually abused a minor beginning in spring 2025 and recorded the abuse. Authorities claim that on several occasions, he entered the child's bedroom through her window at night to commit the abuse.
The Metropolitan Police Department provided information to the FBI on November 21, 2025, stating that Gass met with the minor multiple times for sexual abuse and used her phone on at least two occasions to record explicit videos involving himself and the victim.
"This case is being investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, which is composed of FBI agents, along with other federal agents and detectives from northern Virginia and the District of Columbia," according to the press release. "The task force is charged with investigating and bringing federal charges against individuals engaged in the exploitation of children and those engaged in human trafficking."
Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel Bohlen is prosecuting this matter for the District of Columbia.
"Anyone with further information may contact 1-800-CALL-FBI," officials stated.
The investigation falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in February 2006 aimed at protecting children from online exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorney's Offices nationwide, Project Safe Childhood coordinates efforts among federal, state, and local agencies to identify offenders who exploit children via digital means and help rescue victims.
