Since the start of Operation Catahoula Crunch on December 3, 2025, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has apprehended approximately 370 individuals in the New Orleans area. The operation targets illegal aliens with criminal records, including those involved in drug offenses, hit-and-run incidents, and domestic abuse.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “While sanctuary city politicians have refused to do their job, DHS is making the New Orleans community safer as it continues to arrest illegal alien drug dealers, hit-and-run criminals, and one monster who was convicted for arson and threatening a person with intent to terrorize. I hope that sanctuary politicians will say thank you to the men and women who are putting their lives on the line to get these criminals off the streets.” She added, “Secretary Noem has been VERY CLEAR: DHS does not pick and choose which laws we enforce and which we don’t; under President Trump we are restoring law and order. No matter when and where, DHS will find, arrest, and deport ALL criminal illegal aliens.”

Among those arrested during recent operations were individuals from Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador. The list includes Juan Carlos Medina-Hernandez from Honduras—convicted for various drug-related crimes; Raul Cabrera-Perdomo from Honduras—convicted for illegal re-entry; Victor Garcia-Ramirez from Mexico—convicted three times for illegal re-entry; Angel Rocha-Marquez from Mexico—identified as a driver in a smuggling operation and convicted for illegal use of a weapon; Marlon Adolfo Jiron-Castro from Honduras—convicted for arson and threatening a crime with intent to terrorize; Alex Canu-Gonzalez from Guatemala—with an active warrant out of Arlington, Virginia; Jorge Misael Galiego-Jeronimo from Guatemala—previously arrested for narcotics activity in his home country; Lydia Corrales Hernandez from Mexico—previously arrested for inflicting corporal injury on spouse; Filadelfo Sis-Rodriguez from Guatemala—arrested for driving while intoxicated and hit-and-run; Edras Natanael Berrios-Torres from El Salvador—issued an order of removal earlier this year; Dennis Jared Rios-Morales from Honduras—arrested for marijuana-related offenses; Sergio Yobany Lopez-Mejia from Guatemala—arrested for hit-and-run.

The operation reflects ongoing efforts by DHS to remove individuals considered threats due to their criminal histories.
