During the conversation, Secretary Rubio called on Thailand to take specific steps toward de-escalation and encouraged a return to implementing the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accords. "The Secretary underscored the United States’ concern regarding the continued violence along the Cambodian border and emphasized the immediate need to reduce tensions. Secretary Rubio urged Foreign Minister Sihasak to take concrete actions to de-escalate the situation and for Thailand to return to implementing the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accords," said Pigott.
