Senate confirms nearly 100 Trump nominees with eight advanced by HELP Committee

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, announced that the U.S. Senate has confirmed 97 additional nominees from President Trump this week. Eight of these nominees were advanced by the HELP Committee. Since taking on the role of chairman, Cassidy’s committee has voted to advance 32 Trump nominees, all of whom have been confirmed by the Senate.

“Getting President Trump’s team in place is critical to delivering results for the American people,” said Dr. Cassidy. “As Chairman of the HELP Committee, I’m committed to advancing President Trump’s pro-worker, pro-family, pro-patient agenda.”

The confirmation vote was 53-43.

Among those confirmed are Mary Anne Carter as Chairperson of the National Endowment for the Arts; Scott Mayer as a Member of the National Labor Relations Board; Jeremiah Workman as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans’ Employment and Training at the Department of Labor; Anthony D’Esposito as Inspector General at the Department of Labor; Crystal Carey as General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board; James Murphy as a Member of the National Labor Relations Board; Rosario Palmieri as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Policy at the Department of Labor; and Henry Mack III as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training Administration at the Department of Labor.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee is responsible for legislation related to public health, education policy, workforce issues and retirement programs in order to protect health and support worker rights (official website).
