The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has formed a strategic partnership with Harvey Construction Corp. to enhance safety measures during the construction of the Mark Stebbins Community Center in Manchester, New Hampshire. This collaboration aims to reduce worker injuries and exposure to hazards by fostering a cooperative approach between contractors and the government.
The initiative will support contractors in creating and implementing effective safety and health management systems. It will also provide necessary training for employees, employers, and supervisors. A key focus will be on identifying and mitigating common risks on large-scale construction sites, such as falls or incidents involving materials or equipment.
The Mark Stebbins Community Center project involves building a new facility for the Boys and Girls Club of Manchester, which includes a multipurpose gymnasium and the Amoskeag Health Medical Clinic offering outpatient services in Manchester.
