U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, who chairs the Senate Small Business Committee, has announced Sister’s Home Style Entrees of Humboldt County as her Small Business of the Week. This recognition is part of Chair Ernst’s ongoing effort during the 119th Congress to highlight a small business from each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“Sister’s Home Style Entrees has served up success with hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of elbow grease,” said Chair Ernst. “What began in Deb Davis’ kitchen has simmered into a powerhouse operation that continues to warm hearts and homes across Iowa.”
The business was founded in 2011 by Deb Davis with the goal of providing home-cooked meals to family and friends. Today, under new owner Mary Catherine Ferry following Davis's retirement, Sister’s Home Style Entrees prepares frozen meals for customers throughout Iowa and nearby states.
Chair Ernst emphasized that Sister’s Home Style Entrees stands as an example of how a simple idea led by committed leadership can develop into an important service for communities.
“Stay tuned as Chair Ernst continues to recognize outstanding Iowa small businesses with her Small Business of the Week award.”
