HerbsForever LLC, based in Los Angeles, California, has announced a recall of two of its dietary supplement products due to the possible presence of undeclared wheat. The recall affects 45 units each of “Hingwastik Churna” and “Gastro Care.” The company warns that individuals with a wheat allergy could be at risk for serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.
The affected supplements were distributed nationwide through mail order. The recalled items include Hingwastik Churna Powder 100 gm in an amber PET bottle (UPC: 807814006224, Batch Number 622-2, Expiry Date: June-2029), Hingwastika Extract 60 Veg capsules (800 mg per capsule, UPC: 807814001335, Batch Number 133-14, Expiry Date: April-2029), and Gastro Care in a white plastic bottle containing 90 Veg capsules (800 mg each, UPC: 807814001243, Batch Number 124-4, Expiry Date: January-2029).
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled products. According to HerbsForever LLC, "The situation was discovered during a routine FDA inspection at the manufacturing facility in India where it was indicated by the supplier that a product ingredient called Hing (Ferula Asafoedita) is dried with flour that may contain wheat."
Consumers who purchased the recalled supplements are advised to email contact@herbsforever.com for return instructions and information on obtaining a full refund.
"This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration," HerbsForever LLC stated.
