Diva Fam recalls sea moss gel superfood over regulatory concerns

Diva Fam Inc., based in Los Angeles, has announced a voluntary recall of all lots and flavors of its Sea Moss Gel Superfood products. The company stated that the recall is due to the absence of required regulatory authorization and missing temperature monitoring records for pH-controlled food items.

According to Diva Fam, pH-controlled foods that are not produced according to regulatory standards may pose a risk of microbial growth. This includes organisms capable of producing toxins linked to botulism, a rare but serious illness affecting the nervous system. Symptoms can include weakness, dizziness, double vision, difficulty speaking or swallowing, and in severe cases, trouble breathing or muscle weakness.

The company reported that no illnesses or adverse health events have been associated with these products so far.

The recalled Sea Moss Gel Superfood was distributed nationwide through select retail outlets and online via https://truеsеamоss.cоm/ as well as other channels. All flavors and sizes packaged in 16 FL OZ (473 mL) glass jars with manufacture dates prior to January 9, 2026 are included in the recall. The manufacture date can be found on the jar lid.

The issue was discovered during an inspection by the California Department of Public Health. Inspectors raised concerns about regulatory authorization and production records for certain distributed products. Diva Fam stated: "The Company is cooperating fully with regulatory authorities and has initiated this voluntary recall to ensure regulatory alignment."

Consumers who purchased these products are advised to stop using them immediately and follow instructions from their place of purchase regarding returns or disposal. For more information, consumers can contact Diva Fam at support@divafam.com or call (818) 751-3882 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.

"This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration," according to Diva Fam.
