Trump Administration highlights impact of mass deportations on housing and public safety

In the past year, the Trump Administration has carried out a series of mass deportations aimed at addressing illegal immigration and its effects on American society. According to the administration, these efforts have led to several changes in key areas such as housing, employment, and public safety.

The administration reports that home list prices declined in 14 of the top 20 metropolitan areas with significant populations of undocumented immigrants during December. The three metro areas that saw modest price increases were identified as “sanctuary cities.” This marks the first overall drop in home prices in more than two years, which officials say is contributing to improved housing affordability.

In sectors like trucking and construction—industries with a large share of foreign-born workers—the administration notes significant wage growth for American workers. Real wages are projected to rise by 4.2% during President Trump’s first full year in office.

Employment figures provided by the administration indicate that between January and December 2025, two million native-born Americans gained jobs while 662,000 foreign-born workers lost employment. During this period, 1.8 million native-born Americans entered the labor force as 881,000 foreign-born workers left it.

Public safety statistics released by the administration highlight what they describe as the largest single-year drop in murders on record last year. There were also declines in rapes, robberies, aggravated assaults, shooting deaths (noted as being at their lowest since 2015), on-duty law enforcement officer deaths, traffic fatalities, and overdose deaths.

The administration states these results are especially evident in Democrat-led jurisdictions where mass deportation and enhanced law enforcement operations took place.

"Under President Trump, the America First promise is a reality. While Democrats fight to sabotage these gains and drag us back to the chaos of open borders, skyrocketing costs, and rampant crime, President Trump remains unwavering in his commitment to delivering the security, prosperity, and safety the American people deserve," according to an official statement from the administration.
