U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) posted a series of updates on its official Twitter account between January 18 and January 20, 2026, covering law enforcement actions, commemorative messages, and statements about agency personnel.
On January 18, CBP reported a significant drug seizure at the Gateway International Bridge in Texas. The agency stated: "CBP officers seized an approximate value of $551K of cocaine at the Gateway International Bridge in Texas. A Mexican citizen was referred for secondary inspection when 41.27lbs of narcotics were discovered hidden within the vehicle. A criminal investigation has been initiated on https://t.co/Xqa3DcglGf" (January 18, 2026).
The following day, CBP published a message recognizing Martin Luther King Jr. Day: "Happy #MLKDay! As we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., let today be a reminder of the importance of embracing service and unity for all. May his dream continue to inspire us to build a more compassionate and unified America, together. https://t.co/qFpciplZ9M" (January 19, 2026).
On January 20, CBP addressed challenges faced by its officers and agents as well as those from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The tweet read: "Despite daily assaults and political demonization, brave officers and agents from CBP and @ICEgov are doing the hard work of not only arresting and removing criminal illegal aliens from Minnesota’s streets, but we are also making American communities safer through heroic acts" (January 20, 2026).
