The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Review Council will continue its work until March 25, 2026, according to a new executive order signed by President Donald J. Trump. The council was originally established by Executive Order 14180 on January 24, 2025.

Under the terms of the new order, "the functions of the President under the Federal Advisory Committee Act that are applicable to the Federal Emergency Management Agency Review Council shall be performed by the Secretary of Homeland Security, in accordance with the regulations, guidelines, and procedures established by the Administrator of General Services."

The executive order also states that it will take effect on January 24, 2026. It clarifies that nothing in this order should be interpreted as limiting any authority granted by law to any executive department or agency head or affecting the budgetary or administrative roles of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

The order emphasizes that its implementation is subject to applicable laws and available funding. It further notes that it does not create any enforceable rights for individuals against the United States or its agencies.

Finally, "the costs for publication of this order shall be borne by the Department of Homeland Security," according to President Trump’s directive.
