Senate Foreign Relations Committee schedules hearings on Venezuela policy and key nominations

This week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will hold two key events in Washington. On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the committee is scheduled to conduct a full committee hearing on U.S. policy towards Venezuela. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to testify as a witness at this hearing, which will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, room SD-419. The event will be available for public viewing via livestream.

The following day, Thursday, January 29, 2026, the committee will meet for a business meeting at 9:30 a.m. in room S-116 of the United States Capitol. During this session, the committee will consider several legislative items and review four nominations: Frank Weiland for assistant secretary for international narcotics and law enforcement; Jennifer Wicks McNamara as ambassador to Vietnam; Eric Meyer as ambassador to Sri Lanka; and Gregory LoGerfo as coordinator for counterterrorism.
