U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reports officer attacks during Minneapolis operations

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has reported a series of violent incidents targeting its officers, as detailed in several posts on the agency's official X account. The posts describe physical attacks and threats against ICE personnel during recent enforcement operations.

In a post dated January 25, 2026, ICE stated: "On January 24, our officers were swarmed and attacked by these violent agitators. The courageous men and women of ICE were subjected to the following attacks: — Hurling and kicking dangerous objects at officers — Violent physical assaults, including biting, tackling, and".

Further elaborating on the situation later that day, ICE St. Paul Field Office Director Sam Olson commented on the threats faced by officers: “I’ve been going through threats that (agitators) were coming after people’s families, going to burn their houses down, burn their families alive. These are the type of threats our officers are facing…”.
