The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported the arrest of several individuals described as criminal illegal aliens in Minnesota during Operation Metro Surge. The arrests, which took place yesterday, involved people convicted of crimes such as second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, domestic abuse, and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, "We are in Minnesota to get criminal illegal aliens off the streets. Just yesterday, DHS law enforcement arrested pedophiles, domestic abusers, and armed assailants. We are calling on Minnesota sanctuary politicians to work with us, let us into their jails, so our officers can safely arrest these criminals before they are released onto the streets. If we work together, we can make America safe again."
Among those arrested were Roberto De Leon-Garcia from Mexico for second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving contact with a minor under 14 and conspiracy to transport aliens within the United States; Thao Pao Xiong from Laos for offenses including fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, theft, auto theft, possession of drugs and burglary tools, burglary, domestic abuse, identity theft, possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle, intentionally pointing a firearm at a person, and first-degree recklessly endangering safety; Philip Adjoko from Ghana for second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon; Luis Amigon-Dominguez from Mexico for second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and criminal re-entry after removal as an aggravated felon; and Javier Alexander Ramirez-Llumiquinga from Ecuador for two convictions of driving while intoxicated (DWI), with another DWI case pending in Dakota County District Court in Hastings.
