Why Not Natural recalls Organic Moringa capsules over possible Salmonella contamination

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Why Not Natural, a company based in Houston, Texas, has issued a voluntary recall of its Organic Moringa - Green Superfood capsules. The recall was initiated due to the potential contamination of the product with Salmonella bacteria. Salmonella infection can lead to serious and sometimes fatal health problems, especially for young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. Common symptoms include fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the infection can spread to the bloodstream and cause more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, or arthritis.

The recalled Moringa Capsules were distributed nationwide through mail orders on Why Not Natural’s own e-commerce website as well as third-party online retailers like Amazon.com between July 2025 and January 2026. The affected product is sold in bottles containing 120 capsules. These bottles are marked with lot number A25G051 and have an expiration date of July 2028 stamped on the bottom.

The possible contamination was identified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) during an ongoing investigation into a Salmonella outbreak linked to other products containing moringa powder. Both FDA and Why Not Natural are continuing their investigation into the source of contamination. As a precautionary measure, distribution and production of the product have been suspended.

Customers who purchased Why Not Natural Moringa Capsules are advised to stop using them immediately. They may return the product to Why Not Natural for a full refund or contact the company at care@whynotnatural.com for further information.

More details about this outbreak can be found in the FDA's official outbreak advisory.
