Jacksonville man receives over 15-year sentence for methamphetamine distribution

Jaime Rosario Ang, a 53-year-old resident of Jacksonville, has been sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to two counts of distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Jordan E. Pratt. Ang entered his guilty plea on October 6, 2025.

Court records show that Ang sold more than 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine to an undercover detective on several occasions between 2022 and 2023. In another incident, he agreed to buy a rifle from the same undercover detective, who then identified himself as law enforcement. Following this exchange, federal agents searched Ang’s home and found an additional 517 grams of methamphetamine, 52 grams of fentanyl, a loaded handgun, and two loaded magazines.

U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the sentencing.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Kelli Swaney prosecuted the case.

This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, a national initiative by the Department of Justice designed to combat illegal immigration, dismantle cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and address violent crime in communities across the country. The initiative coordinates efforts through programs such as the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN).
