Durant man sentenced to seven years for transporting child pornography

A man from Durant, Iowa, has been sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for transporting child pornography. The sentencing follows an investigation that began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received several CyberTips indicating that an account linked to Bryce Kenneth Gregoire, 31, contained files with child sexual abuse material.

Court documents and evidence presented at sentencing revealed that Gregoire uploaded images and videos of child sexual abuse material from his residence and personal cell phone. Some of this material was identified through the CyberTips, while additional content found on his account had not been previously reported.

Following his prison term, Gregoire will serve five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution. There is no parole in the federal system.

United States Attorney David C. Waterman of the Southern District of Iowa announced the sentence. The Davenport Police Department conducted the investigation.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program coordinates efforts among federal, state, and local agencies to identify offenders and rescue victims.
