Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Bolivian Foreign Minister Fernando Aramayo to discuss expanding cooperation between the United States and Bolivia. The meeting took place during Foreign Minister Aramayo's participation in the Secretary’s Critical Mineral Ministerial.
According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, "The Secretary expressed support for Bolivia’s economic opening to the world as Foreign Minister Aramayo participated in the Secretary’s Critical Mineral Ministerial. The United States values its close partnership with Bolivia to advance economic growth, trade opportunities, and solutions to citizen security challenges posed by transnational crime."
Both officials highlighted their interest in strengthening ties in areas such as economic growth, trade, and citizen security.
