The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested several individuals across the country who were convicted of serious crimes, including offenses against children, sex offenses, and violent felonies.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin commented on the arrests, saying, “Sanctuary city policies prevent information sharing and prevent our law enforcement from being notified of a criminal illegal alien's release from jail. These are just a few of the criminals our ICE law enforcement risked their lives to arrest yesterday: pedophiles, sex offenders, and murderers. Nothing will stop ICE law enforcement from removing criminals from American communities. When you see an ICE law enforcement officer, thank them for risking their lives to make your neighborhoods safer.”
Among those arrested were Jose Guzman from Mexico, convicted in Ontario, California for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14; Jose Marco Hernandez from El Salvador, convicted in La Plata, Maryland for a third-degree sex offense; Kha Ngoc Le from Vietnam, convicted in New Hampshire for voluntary manslaughter as well as burglary and robbery; Hector Gamez-Perdomo from Honduras, convicted in Vance County, North Carolina for breaking and entering; and Julio Tenorio-Drag from Peru, convicted of burglary in New Rochelle, New York.
DHS has made additional information about these arrests available at WOW.DHS.Gov.
