More than 4,000 individuals described as criminal illegal aliens have been arrested in Minnesota as part of Operation Metro Surge. The operation began after President Donald J. Trump initiated the effort, which officials say targets violent offenders, gang members, and other public safety threats.
The announcement was made in Minneapolis by Tom Homan, who serves as Border Czar. Homan highlighted increased cooperation from local authorities, attributing it to ongoing enforcement actions led by the administration.
"This landmark achievement marks another decisive step forward in the Trump Administration’s relentless drive to dismantle the devastating effects of the Radical Left’s open border policies and deliver his promise to restore law and order to our communities," a statement from the administration said.
Homan emphasized what he called an "unprecedented level of cooperation now emerging from local officials — compelled by the Trump Administration’s sustained, resolute enforcement."
The arrests are being framed by federal officials as part of broader efforts to address crime and immigration policy under current national directives.
