Cesar Briseno Mauricio, a 26-year-old Mexican national, was sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry into the United States. The sentencing took place in Muskogee, Oklahoma, according to an announcement from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Mauricio had previously pleaded guilty on January 7, 2026. Authorities reported that he was found in Love County, Oklahoma on November 17, 2025, without having received permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reenter the country after his removal on March 18, 2020.
The investigation involved both the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
“This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime,” stated officials.
The sentencing hearing was overseen by Senior District Judge Ronald A. White in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan E. Soverly and Nicole Paladino prosecuted the case.
