Green Lumber Holding, LLC has issued an updated consumer alert regarding counterfeit products that were falsely marketed as genuine Green Lumber items and may pose health risks. The update clarifies the recalled product lot number from a press release originally issued on August 28, 2025.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) referenced the recall in its February 9 Enforcement Report. The recall began in August 2025 after FDA testing found undeclared tadalafil—a prescription medication—in products labeled as Green Lumber. Tadalafil is not present in authentic Green Lumber products. The February 9 report does not signal a new recall but documents the previously announced action.
After learning of the FDA’s findings, Green Lumber conducted an internal review and determined that an employee had misused legitimate packaging and customer data to distribute counterfeit or adulterated goods. That employee was terminated.
Consumers are advised to check for Lot Number LOT308EXP03/28 on their products, which identifies the recalled counterfeit product. This lot number is not used by Green Lumber for any genuine item and should be discarded if found.
Legitimate Green Lumber products currently distributed have these lot numbers: LOTGL0130151EXP0926, GL01EXP09/27, and LOT GL110725 EXP110727. Only these are considered authentic and are not part of the recall.
Counterfeit versions may contain undeclared tadalafil, which could lead to serious health problems—especially for individuals taking nitrates or other heart medications—as it can cause dangerously low blood pressure or other severe reactions.
Consumers should verify their packaging for approved lot numbers, discontinue use of any product with LOT308EXP03/28, report suspected counterfeit goods to both Green Lumber and the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program, and seek medical attention if unexpected side effects occur.
“Consumer safety is our number one priority,” said Brett Hales, President. “We acted swiftly after the FDA’s testing identified tadalafil in a product labeled as ours. Our investigation revealed that an employee had been diverting our packaging and customer channels to sell counterfeit goods. That individual has been terminated, and we have strengthened our safeguards to protect customers and ensure this does not happen again.”
Green Lumber states it has worked with both the FDA and law enforcement throughout its response to this issue.
