It is a tremendous honor and responsibility and one that I do not take lightly. I was hired out of this office and am excited to return and make a difference in the communities within our district.”

A native of Madison County, Illinois, Bolin graduated from Maquette Catholic High School in Alton in 1997 before attending Western Illinois University. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after his freshman year, eventually achieving the rank of sergeant. During his military service, he completed basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, served with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado, and was deployed to Bosnia in 2000 and Egypt in 2001.

After four years in the Army, Bolin returned to Madison County and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 2005.

Bolin joined the U.S. Secret Service as a special agent at the Chicago Field Office in 2006. He later worked with the Vice Presidential Protective Division in Washington D.C., moved to the Dignitary Protective Division where he helped coordinate several National Special Security Events, then returned as a supervisor to the Vice Presidential Protective Division. In 2023, he came back to Chicago as an assistant to the special agent in charge before being named resident agent in charge of Springfield Resident Office in October 2025.

With more than 19 years at the U.S. Secret Service and over two decades of federal service overall, Bolin brings extensive experience to his new leadership role.
