Border Patrol agents from the Grand Forks Sector, working with North Dakota’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations, have arrested a Mexican national for possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in Stanley, North Dakota.

Authorities executed a federal search warrant on February 6 at a local residence. During the operation, electronic devices were seized and examined. According to officials, Hugo Lopez-Diaz’s phone was found to contain CSAM.

Lopez-Diaz was taken into custody on state charges related to the possession of CSAM and is currently awaiting prosecution. Officials have directed all further inquiries to the North Dakota Attorney General.
