A Bolivian national living in Tulsa has been charged with crimes related to child sexual abuse material and is also wanted by INTERPOL. Vismar Erick Atahuichi Alanoca, 39, faces charges for receipt and distribution of child pornography as well as possession or access with intent to view child pornography.
The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline received three reports from Facebook. According to court documents, Facebook reported that images consistent with child sexual abuse material were uploaded and shared by a user on its platform. Agents later executed a search warrant and found that Alanoca possessed material depicting the sexual abuse of a prepubescent child. It is also alleged that Alanoca communicated with another Facebook user to request such material.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that Alanoca is listed as a wanted fugitive by INTERPOL. The risk factors associated with his case indicate violent tendencies, escape risk, sexually violent predator status, and previous offenses involving minors.
Homeland Security Investigations is leading the inquiry, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashley Robert is prosecuting the case.
"A criminal complaint is merely an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law."
This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address online child exploitation. The project brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate offenders who exploit children via the Internet and rescue victims.
