Billy Ray St. Clair, a 25-year-old resident of Durant, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of being a felon in possession of ammunition. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that St. Clair admitted to possessing 18 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition on January 14, 2025. He had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year in prison.
The offense carries a maximum penalty of up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Durant Police Department.
St. Clair entered his plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Judge Jackson accepted the plea and ordered that a presentence investigation report be completed.
A U.S. District Court Judge will decide St. Clair’s sentence after reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.
St. Clair is currently held by the United States Marshals Service as he awaits sentencing.
