Christopher Santiago-Rosado, a 32-year-old resident of Bridgeport, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for distributing fentanyl. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in New Haven. In addition to the prison term, Santiago-Rosado will serve four years of supervised release.

The case stems from an investigation conducted in 2024 by the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and the Bridgeport Police Department into an open-air drug market near Noble Avenue and Shelton Street in Bridgeport. Authorities carried out 11 controlled purchases of narcotics from various sellers between March and September 2024. Investigators used court-authorized wiretaps and physical surveillance, which revealed that Santiago-Rosado and others supplied fentanyl to local drug dealers.

Santiago-Rosado was arrested on February 13, 2025. He pleaded guilty on November 3, 2025, to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, at least 40 grams of fentanyl.

Currently released on a $150,000 bond, Santiago-Rosado is required to report to prison on March 26.

“This investigation has been conducted by the FBI Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force, the Bridgeport Police Department, and the Stratford Police Department,” according to David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. “The Task Force is composed of personnel from the FBI, Connecticut State Police, and the Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Trumbull Police Departments.” The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark.
